Roman Rieth (born 13 December 1986 in Innsbruck, Austria) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vienna, Austria. He works across painting, drawing, and sculpture, using acrylic paint on linen, graphite and charcoal on paper, alongside sculptural practices employing traditional materials such as wood, plaster, and metal. He is best known for a distinctive figurative language combined with abstract tableaus and vivid colors.

Rieth’s artistic journey began at the Technical College of Construction and Design (HTL Bau & Design) in Innsbruck, where he studied sculpture. He later continued at the Tyrolean State Theater (Tiroler Landestheater) in Innsbruck, contributing to large-scale projects including stage sets and spatial installations. 

In 2015, he relocated to Moscow, Russia, where he launched his independent artistic career and lived for nearly a decade. During this period, he produced several significant bodies of work, including a series of portraits and figurative paintings, as well as the abstract geometric painting series Mazes (2019), exhibited in Moscow. 

From 2024 onward, Rieth has been based in Vienna, where his practice has evolved toward an exploration of the contemporary world and its effects on the human condition and identity, characterized by a dynamic tension between figuration and abstraction.

Roman Rieth has held solo exhibitions at Red Side, Moscow, Russia (2016), and at Cult, Moscow, Russia (2019). He participated in Moscow Fashion Week (2020) with a solo artist performance. His works are included in numerous private collections in Russia and Austria.
